MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


 Strong analytical and organizational skills
 Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
 Excellent oral and written communication skills
 Comply with confidentiality requirements pertaining to student information.
 Knowledge of school procedures, such as enrollment, scheduling, grading, graduation requirements, and course coding
 Considerable knowledge of computers, various operating systems, SQL and HTML, as well as word processing software, spreadsheets, and databases
 Ability to exercise judgment independently in selecting and implementing procedures and analyzing data
 Ability to troubleshoot and correct hardware and software problems
 Skills related to organized and engaged meeting management
 Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with school personnel, parents, students, and district staff
 Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, rapidly-changing team environment


EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE


 High school diploma and at least 3 years of experience in an automated office or systems environment or
 Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered


CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS


Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of NC requirements
 Obtain North Carolina Public Notary Certification


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Database Maintenance


 Ensure accuracy of all state and locally required fields in the student information database.
 Enroll and withdraw students according to state and local procedures.
 Maintain student’s cumulative folder for current and previous students.
 Ensure that teachers and students have a complete schedule for the current school year.
 Enter student disciplinary actions and suspensions.
 Train parents in the use of the parent portal.
 Troubleshoot and provide technical support for the student information database for students, teachers, and administration.
 Ensure that teacher’s gradebooks are setup correctly.


Reporting


 Provide a daily attendance report to the cafeteria manager.
 Print and distribute report cards.
 Prepare honor roll lists and perfect attendance lists.
 Reconcile and approve state reports within the student information database (RP, PMR, SAR, etc.).
 Prepare customized reports as requested.
 Maintain updated student demographics and emergency contacts for emergency purposes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


 Must be able to use a variety of office equipment such as computers and copiers
 Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds
 Due to the amount of time spent working on the computer, standing, and walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for light work


WORK ENVIRONMENT


 Must be able to work in office and public school environments and come into direct contact with staff, students, and parents
 Travel is required to schools and Central Services offices
